Awesome!! I stop here everytime I come home..they have great cajun food. Do not pass up the boudin balls or the smoked boudin!! The boudin balls are large, fresh, crunchy, and meal in itself. All the boudin is really tasty, but I favor the smoked. They also have plate lunches, so no matter the preference, you will not leave hungry. Be especially prepared for a looong line, anytime of the day.

Delicious Cajun food by any standard! Best crawfish boil we've had in Louisiana. Also great bbq chicken, various exotic smoked game meats and sausages ready to go. However there was some miscommunication due to our moms exotic English accent and we got fried shrimp instead of shrimp gumbo. Wish we tried the gumbo too!

Simple cafe with really good gumbo and boudin. Great place to stop, full of locals. You know it is the real thing if the locals eat there.

Really good Cajun food. We stopped on our way to Baton Rouge and had read some really good reviews. The bf had the plate lunch (beef tips and rice, green beans and sweet potatoes). So, so, sooooo good! I had the chicken and sausage gumbo, very good, wasn't spicy enough for my tastes... Nothing a little Lousiana Hot Sauce can't fix ;). We also has the regular boudin balls (they also have jalapeño and cheese)... The fried batter on the outside was pretty salty and floury... Not the best. The boudin inside was excellent, should've just gotten that inside of the ball. Very small location which gets packed easily, but totally worth the wait.

Ooo -wee! Definitely a no-frills local's meat store and small restaurant. Excellent boudin balls and sausage jambalaya. Simple and good.

Okay food, not great though like most other reviews state. A lot of other reviews I read were from out of state people. I was born and raised in cajun country and while this food was decent, I have had much better cajun cooking.

Best boudin in town! Their boudin is spicy just how I like it. I got a burger while I waited for my order and that wasn't too impressive though. Service is great and fast!

The wait for your food wasextremely long it took us almost 30 minutes from the time we ordered food and we did not even receive our food until I had to ask for it.

We stopped at Billedeaux Cajun Cafe today with our 7 passenger van load of hungry folks. We were on the road between Houston and Orlando and needed to time a food stop in Lake Charles, LA. I noticed Billedeaux had just one review at the time but it was positive and the restaurant was easy-off, easy-on I-10 coming eastbound. Definitely worth the stop. Two of us got the chicken and sausage gumbo lunch special and it was awesome. Good rice, good roux, plenty of meat. Get a small potato salad for another buck and you have a great meal for $6. The others in my party had cheeseburgers or poboys. I think the poboys were just there and the burgers were too spicy for kids. They need a couple of kids items. Overall they have tons of meat including boudin balls and deer sausage. Almost too much focus on meat. Also you need to stop by Home Depot for a respirator to filter out all of the smoke inside the restaurant. They need a better exhaust fan! Overall, it was a good choice and we were glad to eat good local fare instead of bad fast food. Worth the stop.

Came here last Friday for a late lunch- as others have said, there will be a line even when you least expect it! One of the main things I wanted to try here was the boudin, and there was a handwritten sign up advertising new jalapeno and cheese boudin balls, but unfortunately they were sold out by the time I arrived. Heard they were great, though. BF and I shared a meal consisting of the sausage and jambalaya plate and a link of the boudin. In addition to serving hot-cooked food, various refrigerated foods are also available for purchase at the counter, such as various sausages, deer with green onion or jalapeno, and a few varieties of boudin. Straight up, the jambalaya was amazing. It was hearty with sausage and bits of sausage, and just the right amount of spice to kick you in the mouth without putting you off of the dish. I wish I'd realized the sausage in the jambalaya would be the same as what was served alongside, or I would have gone with a different combination. Either way, the sausage was good, too. The plate was also served with a biscuit that was simple and stellar at the same time, and perfectly complemented the spice of the dishes. The boudin was just okay. It wasn't as flavorful as others I've tried, but it was still in link form and was tasty. BF did not particularly care for it, and I found that I preferred other options in town. Service here was friendly and polite, though the dining area could use some sprucing up. This place is as simple and down home as your mother's kitchen, just cleaner and with less decorative knick knacks.

Amazing! The Boudin Balls and Sausage Jambalaya are to die for. I used to come during Spring Break when we would do volunteer Hurricane Relief, and this place was always a go-to stop. It is no frills, but the food is good and the crowds justified.
